January 1st... Let's get physical!

Today I started a new workout routine. For the next year I am going to do a different exercise routine from Pinterest. I will only do exercises that require no equipment or things that you could find around your house. Seemed like a challenge to me. After all, I'm not getting any younger. I might seem like I'm in good health, but I don't do a good job of taking care of myself at all. I'm inspired by my friends who workout. I know some very smart people who have changed their lives through exercise. My friends Ethan and Melissa decided to make exercise a core in their life and I think that their relationship with each other and with their children has only grown stronger. My friend Mary Beth looks sensational. My Facebook friend Alisa is doing 100 push ups everyday until her son returns home from his deployment. I know quite a few runners and they all seem to have their acts together. And I think it's because of the discipline that exercise brings to your life.
Like many people, I have become addicted to pinning things on Pinterest. It's really a great website for ideas you might never have thought of. I've always had a passing relationship with exercise. In fact, I worked at gym for a while in my twenties. So when my friend Sam starting pinning workouts onto a board, I started perusing them. I started looking at pictures of myself from this past year. I have never been a thin person, but I was feeling especially fluffy. Especially after none of my pants were fitting any more. And I noticed my delightful double chin. So I decided I needed a serious workout plan. But I can't really afford the expensive gym equipment and I've never really been a fan of traditional gyms. So I started pinning workouts from Pinterest.
Then one day I decided that with all the plans on Pinterest, I could probably figure out a serious workout routine from all of the plans I was pinning. I also noticed that I could seriously probably do a different exercise routine from Pinterest every day. I know that exercise alone will not make me healthy, I know I also need to change my habits and my eating patterns. So I will be documenting all my changes her in my blog. I'm also going to try to do one random nice thing every day. Today, for instance, I gave the stranger in front of  me at the store the thirteen cents he needed to make even change. It's not much, but it's one less hassle for both him and the cashier. After all, I always hated counting out change when I worked retail.
The workout I did today from Pinterest was called the "Get Rihanna's Body!" routine. It's a dance routine, in that it uses ballet positions. It took my about ten minutes to do the whole routine and that was changing the pins on my computer. My legs feel a little stretched out, but other than that, I'm not really tired. Granted, it really isn't a full workout. I hardly think that Rihanna has such a rocking body from doing just that routine alone. So I will persist on to other workouts. But I must say that the Ab Curls changed my life. I think those are honestly harder than crunches. And I definitely have to work on my planking times.
If you want to see my workouts, you can find them on my Pinterest board pinterest.com/holsrocks/let-s-get-physical.
